on second thought

Now that I have posted one Dylan Thomas poem, my remaining favorites are competing in my head for attention. Here is another passage of which I am quite fond -it is the fourth (IV) section of his poem entitled "Our Eunuch Dreams"...

This is the world: the lying likeness of
Our strips of stuff that tatter as we move
Loving and being loth;
The dream that kicks the buried from their sack
And lets their trash be honoured as the quick.
This is the world. Have faith.
